Blockchain can improve the efficiency of work of government said: US Republican Leader
The leader of Republican party of US house of representatives Kevin McCarthy has said that he has confidence in blockchain technology that it can make US Congress more transparent and efficient place as per a report on 12th March.
In 2007 he became the member of US House of representatives, from 2014 to 2019 he assisted the House as majority leader. From 2019 he is serving as leader of House of the minority.
The Republican leader was speaking at Select Committee for Modernization of Congress, where he spoke about his belief about the technology. He has said the nascent technology had made an exemplary change in terms of security in the financial world. And the same can help to transform the legislative process of the country by making it more transparent.
Select Committee for Modernization was established during the 116th congress in the initial part of 2019. Mr. Derek Kilmer, a Democratic Congressman, chairs the committee. The committee was formed for the modernization of the legislative division.
He continued by saying, the government should integrate the 21st-century technology to make itself more friendly and accountable . He further noted that the opportunity should be taken to make the place effective, efficient, valuable and responsible. He sees immense possibilities in blockchain technology.
He also cited the examples from the past, how the innovative technologies had passed through regulations and have made the working of the government more accessible. He has confidence in the technology that it can also boost the legislative process as well.
The political leader sounds more like a technical entrepreneur nowadays, from his speech it is visible that he has become an enthusiast of this 21st-century technology. He suggested the government to build its blockchain.
He tried to convey a sense of urgency among his peers by saying that blockchain technology is changing the financial world and they should also incorporate this technology to add transparency to the legislative documents of the country.
Last year McCarthy together with a US lawmaker planned for a blockchain pilot project to fight the communicable fungal disease
The US state of Wyoming has passed two blockchain technology associated bills in the latest past. The first bill will create a framework for storage certificate tokens on the blockchain and help in their transfer and second will serve as a depository institution to help in the blockchain related business.
